About Us

New Culture Center in the Midwest (NCCM) is a (501)(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to preserving and sharing traditional Chinese culture developed over 5,000 years of civilization.

As technological advancements and globalization continue to bridge gaps between nations and people worldwide, economic incentives, cultural diversification and other motivations have encouraged the American public's interest in traditional Chinese culture as well as in contemporary China itself. Additionally, many immigrants from Chinese-speaking countries have settled in the United States. The 2010 U.S. Census estimates that among the Asian population living in the U.S., over 4 million Chinese Americans represent the largest segment. The same data shows that ethnic Chinese represent the third largest Asian community in the Twin Cities, with at least 30,141 residents. The actual population is likely much higher, as many Chinese have a cultural aversion toward completing official questionnaires.

NCCM represents a unique organization in Minnesota formed by Chinese-speaking immigrants seeking to conserve and promote the values of traditional Chinese culture by providing comprehensive knowledge and services to the public, aimed at promoting multicultural understanding, improving quality of life, and strengthening morality. NCCM also sponsors performing arts activities such as classical Chinese dance presentations featuring traditional Chinese instruments and music.
